| A small
village of "Kom et-Tarfaya" is shown on the SoE 1:100,000 (1916) map with
the mound Kom ed-Dahab (iii) to the east (SCA 100158, see our no. 635).
Visited by Penny Wilson in 2004, who reported as follows:
This site is now under
a village of the same name. The location reading is taken from the football
pitch in the village. It is on the edge of the Edku Marsh area and a series
of fish farms. No pottery collection was made here. Drill-cores taken in
2005 confirmed the marshy nature of the older ground.
