MAGHUD, T.  [353]  also called FARASHA

Amsterdam University survey 1984: Alternative name Tell Farasha, as registered by the SCA.

East part of tell covered by village of Ez. Ali Suliman el-Maghud. Some of the west half has been levelled to agriculture, creating a water-filled depression. SCA excavations around this in 1971 and 1974 by M Mussalami and Abd el-Haqq revealed part of a cemetery of the 2IP, with 11 tombs containing contracted burials, orientated ENE-WSW. The W part of the cemetery was covered by a LP building. Some Saite sherds noted. Remains of a large enclosure wall noted, dated to GR period. Excavations were done for agricultural development.
