KHATIMI, T.  [602]

Neal Spencer visited Kom el-Khatmi in 2003 and noted:

There is no modern village or cemetery near the kom. A west-facing section displays a sandy matrix, Roman sherds, fired bricks and a fair amount of modern concrete fragments. The surface displays undulating topography and clumps of halfa-grass. There are two elevated areas on tell, to the north and south, respectively; and a flat area without vegetation in the middle. South mound features fired brick on surface (not in situ). Very few sherds on surface and no visible structures. Some metal slag on surface, and green vitreous material.
