Neal Spencer
reported the site has gently undulating sandy surface with patches of grass
and thorn. Bounded to S and W by irrigation canals, with modern tracks
running N-S across western and eastern edges of site. Sizeable village
at NW corner. Southern area features almost no surface pottery (only 1
unglazed black sherd seen). Parts of middle bare of vegetation. Elevated
areas at SW and NW with coarse red silt ware sherds and a few finer wares
of Late Period to Ptolemaic. Possible location of previous excavations
on west, with open sections showing mud-brick structures. No fired brick
seen on site. Ashes and burnt human bones in open sections. Several large
limestone fragments noted and also a siltstone mortar. To view in Google
