Details and many refs. with record of exploration and monuments (to 1964) in Bernard, including publication of the Canopus Decree from the site and otherwise unpublished foundation deposits of Psamtik III in Egyptian Museum, Cairo. Included in ARCE Naukratis survey 1980-82. Tomb of Khesuwer published by Silverman. R. Wenke found OK settlement at S end. Large 1IP to MK cemetery dug by Hamada and Farid. Some NK surface sherds. 1996 tests by C. Kirby for EES relocated edges of temple foundation and surface areas with MK and 2IP deposits, with THIP below. Blocks of R.II in nearby village of Abuiqa. The SCA excavations of 2001, in the environs of the Khesu-wer tomb, have been published as Al-Ensaniat 11 = Journal of Faculty of Arts, Alexandria University, Damanhour Branch (2002) [in Arabic]. This illustrates four foundation deposits, large amphorae and many flints. Large brick structures with kilns are also pictured.
