| Visited
by Penny Wilson for EES in 2005. The site known by this name does not agree
with the location given in the SCA mapping atlas. The latter has the site
at approximately 31°10’ 10"N and 30°21' 30"E, considerably south-east
of the position derived from other sources. The SoE map gives 31°12’
00"N and 30°19' 48"E and GPS gave 31°11' 54"N and 30°19' 48"E.
The SoE map location coincides with satellite imagery (2006) at 31°
12' 06" N 30° 19' 46"E, showing a small tell of about 110 x 100m with
tracks around its north and west edges and fields to the south. The coordinates
obtained by GPS are for an area some 300m further south, where there are
a few houses, as shown in the photographs on this page. There is little
to see in this place. It consists of a sandy area, with a few pottery sherds
lying on the surface.
