Visited in 2004 by Penny Wilson, who made the following notes:

This site is under a modern town. From the top of a new school building which stands on a high point in the landscape, one can look down the main street of the this town and you could be looking down the side of the low sloping mound. From here two other sites were clearly visible to the north-west, Kom Makboura and Kom el Gil; and to the north. Kom el Mahar could be seen in the distance.
M. Kennawai noted that vats for wine-production were found in SCA excavations of 2009 (see Kennawi 2010 in bibliography).
