Inspected for the Delta Survey in April 2011 by Patricia and Jeffrey Spencer. This long narrow mound is highest (about 6m) at its northern end and slopes gently towards the south. It lies in the cultivated land just west of an asphalted road leading south to Sidi Ghazi. The surface is covered by a thin growth of shrub, so few surface features or sherds were visible. A trench had been dug into the north part of the mound and some sherds discarded to one side (picture below) - these were Late Roman. A path through the cultivation leads through a small settlement just north-east of the mound, where some traditional Delta architecture was seen to be preserved at the time of the visit. The mud-brick houses were all abandoned and are probably intended for demolition.
