GAMUS, T. EL-  [87]  also called Alamiya

 
 
 
 

This site is named Tell el Alamiya in the SCA Kafr es-Sheikh register. The Survey of Egypt 1:100,000 map (1916) has Tell el Gamus by a village named "Allamiyeh".  Satellite images show a substantial mound with a modern cemetery on the top. The south side is crossed by a track leading to a village at the north-east. The mound lies in cultivated fields. Another patch of land which might be a remnant of a mound lies 250m to the south east.
