DAHAB, KOM EL-  [302]

About 100m long in 1916. Area visited by S R Snape in 1996, who reported that the site survived as a substantial but low mound. Visited by Penny Wilson in 2004, who reported as follows:

This is a low area, partly covered in reeds and scrub, which is mostly flat and without significant features. The covering soil is brown and salty with very little pottery lying on it. If there was a tell here it has been almost entirely dug away to its base. The area to the north-east is now occupied by a rubbish processing plant which seems to have been built quite recently. Small mounds of earth and rubble from its construction have been pushed immediately behind it to the south. A few red granite grinding stones and a limestone block have been gathered in front of the factory, again probably cleared during the construction.

The maximum dimensions of the site (including the rubbish processing factory and football pitch) are: 640m north-south by 220m east-west.
