BAHR MAHED, T. [323] also called Kom Gamaliya
Foucart (1898) notes that Kom Gamaliya was also known under the name Tell Bahr Mahed. The site was again mentioned under the latter name by Foucart in 1901. Gamaliya town itself is built on small mound that is probably ancient. Many modern houses built with ancient stones and Roman bricks. Granite and quartzite occurs throughout town. Quartzite blocks of Seti I and Ramesses II near mosque. Attributed to Baqliya by Habachi. Granite papyriform column of Nectanebo I in mosque.
