Survey by Amsterdam University in 1984: few limestone blocks in fields but no tell survives. Tests by Fathi Malek in 1962 (Unpublished SCA report). Villagers mentioned two inscribed blocks built into an old well some 500m to west of cemetery at Awlad Moussa, but when the well was located it was found to have been filled in. Some Late Period sherds reported. Satellite imagery of 2007 shows a substantial town with a cemetery on its eastern side, adjacent to cultivated fields.
