Tell el-Iswid

Archaeological site, one of several of this name, distinguished as Tell el-Iswid (south). The mound is very low, almost at cultivation level, and part of it can be seen to have been marked out for new field-plots. The rectangular shape and straight sides are a result of the advance of the agriculture. Egypt Exploration Society Delta Survey no. 594. Only 400m to the south west of this site is the small mound of Tell el-Abbassiya (EES no. 593).
