Kom Usim

A substantial archaeological site is indicated on old maps of this area, but it has been completely levelled to fields. The original extent is still evident from the oval shape in the field-pattern visible on the satellite image. The diameter of the site was once over 400m. Fewer sites have suvived in the southern Delta as compared with the many examples still extant further north, owing to the earlier expansion of agriculture in the south.
