Ancient Thmuis. Rectangular enclosure in NE called Khoronfish with much fired brick construction. Ruins of Coptic church. American work in 1960s. SCA excavations continuing in 1990s. A mission from the University of Hawaii began work in 2008 and found remains of a Greek-style temple of Ptolemy II and Queen Arsinoe.
